Brendan Howlett

Brendan is an director, actor, theatre creator and teacher who has worked across the country and internationally. He was the founding Artistic Director of Shakespeare in the Ruff and led the company over five seasons until 2016. Brendan was part of the Actors’ Repertory Company and a member of the 2012/13 National Arts Centre English Acting Company. Some of his favourite directing credits: Beaver (WeWillMeet/Storefront); Honey In The Lion’s Head (Retaliation Theatre); Two Gents, Cymbeline’s Reign, and Macbeth: Walking Shadows (Shakespeare in the Ruff). Favourite acting credits: We Are Proud To Present… (Theatre Centre); Bea (Actors’ Rep Co.); Sia (Pyretic Productions); Romeo and Juliet (Citadel Theatre); Innocence Lost (Centaur/NAC); Richard III (Shakespeare in the Ruff). Brendan is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada.
