Astrid Van Wieren

Astrid is on a long intermission from Broadway where she was playing Beulah & others in the beautiful musical COME FROM AWAY. Her CFA performance earned her a Dora nom from the production’s stopover in Toronto. Other highlights include: Germaine in BELLES SOEURS - the musical (Segal Centre and NAC); Sheilagh Fielding in THE COLONY OF UNREQUITED DREAMS (Artistic Fraud, NFLD); Holly in MYTH OF THE OSTRICH (T.O. Fringe Fest and Next Stage). A graduate of Ryerson Theatre School and U.W.O., Astrid received a Dora Mavor Moore award for playing Lorraine in the intimate drama THIS WIDE NIGHT. Two years ago, she hosted the awards’ event. What a treat! Astrid co-produced, helped write and played the lead in the indie feature THE RIVER YOU STEP IN.
