EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Development Coordinator

SpiderWebShow Performance is seeking a Development Coordinator. 

This is an 8-week position funded by Canada Summer Jobs. 

The Development Coordinator will further develop and implement the sponsorship and donor plans, as well as working on reporting on the 19/20 season and prepare applications for the 20/21 season. 

This position is a unique opportunity to work with an arts organization dedicated to the intersection of live performance and digital tools. 

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of SpiderWebShow Performance Artistic Director Adrienne Wong, the Event Coordinator will coordinate the implementation of the fund development towards FOLDA 2021, building on the plan created by the 2020 Development Intern. In addition, the Event Coordinator will work with the Artistic Director to assess and report on FOLDA 2020 to current funders and supporters. 

Donation Development

  • Develop materials to distribute to stakeholder groups
  • Research potential sponsors and make initial contact
  • Coordinate donor development and retention plan
  • Additional duties associated, as needed

Funding Development

  • Review completed grant applications and reporting requirements
  • Draft final report prose and budgets
  • Assemble support materials
  • Research opportunities for 20/21 season
  • Additional duties associated, as needed

Supervision: 

Supervision will be provided by Artistic Director Adrienne Wong. This employee will also be in communication with SWS Director of Artistic Research Michael Wheeler, and Executive Producer Sarah Garton Stanley.

 Qualifications:

  • Pursuing post-secondary education in arts, arts administration, business administration, development or a related field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High proficiency with online Google applications (Docs, Sheets, etc)
  • Good time management with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines, and prioritize with minimal direction
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy with ability to work independently
  • Previous experience in arts and/or entertainment is an asset

In accordance with the terms of the Canada Summer Jobs program, the individual must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and,
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/ territorial legislation and regulations.

Contract Dates: September 4 – October 23, 2020 (35hrs/week for 8 weeks)
$16/hour
Location: This is a remote-work position. 

Work hours and start date are negotiable. Access to home office equipment and stable internet service is an asset, but not necessary.
